Antique 19th C. Meissen Porcelain Raised Relief Gold White Cup + Saucer

  

Offering an unusual and elegant antique Meissen Cup and Saucer. The porcelain of both cup and saucer have an overall tactile pattern of actual raised dots. " The design in relief on the cup and saucer is one of "Gothic arches. Thus the saucer rim has a wonderful and dramatic "architectural" scallop.

When the cup is held up to the light, the spaces framed by the arches have a translucent quality, underlining the "Cathedral" motif. The cup is bottom stamped under the glaze with the blue Meissen crossed swords.

2 1/2" in height, with a diameter of 4" (including handle). The saucer is bottom stamped in the center the blue Meissen crossed swords (very faint) and a vertical bar in gold? And another letter (hard to read). 5 3/4" in diameter and 3 4/" in height.

This cup and saucer are in very good vintage condition, with no cracks, chips or stains. There is rubbing to the gold, especially along the inner rim of the cup.
