J. P. Jacob Petit Signed French Porcelain Gold Scroll 2 Cup & Saucer 1796-1868

  

This over 150 year old cup and saucer set is in Excellent Condition with No Chips No Cracks No Crazing. Very nice Jacob Petit flat cup and saucer set. This has a Pink & purple floral pattern with an orange background.

Inside the cup is a center floral design with a gold scroll band. The rims are ruffled with an embossed feather design. The cup & saucer are both signed by the artist LEUAR. On the back they are signed J.

In less than 10 years, he had hired about 200 people to make and decorate porcelains. They made ornamental vases, statues, clocks, inkwells and perfume bottles. This set looks very well taken care of perhaps under glass or in a cabinet protected for a long period of time. They are in the type of condition that would please even the truly picky collector. The cup measures 2" High x 3 7/8" Wide rim to rim and the saucer measures 6 Wide rim to rim.
