Antique Coalport Marquess of Anglesey cup and saucer circa 1820. Gold floral
A lovely coffee cup and saucer dating to circa 1820 in the rare and sought after Marquess of Anglesey pattern. The Nantgarw factory was the first to make this pattern, but later on other factories in England and Wales also made pieces. Although both pieces are unmarked, we can agree that the Coalport factory made these, as the chain style gilded pattern is unique to them and is an addition to the original design. The cup and saucer are both in excellent condition, with very little wear to the paint or gilt. There are no cracks or crazing. There is some slight unevenness to the cup footrim, which I believe is original to manufacture as it is glazed over. We post safely worldwide using plenty of bubble wrap and strong double walled boxes. Please see our other items for more porcelain and china.
