Vintage Bing & Grondahl Hartmann Tea cups & saucers for 6 people. This set is in very good condition. The lovely design is called Hartmann and this particular piece was made in the 1950's. The self pattern to the ceramic is based on the distinctive seahorse and scale trim pattern first designed by Fanny Garde on her famous sea gull dinner setting.
The base pattern was used on many dinner set designs. The ceramic is white with a richly gilded edging. The teacups has a gorgeous detail of a seahorse to the handle with fish scale patterning around the top of the cups and edges of the saucers. The gold trim is rich and intact. There is no damage to this lovely set, the glaze is glossy and as mentioned the gold trim is rich and bright. The teacups and matching saucers have pattern number of 108 and the back stamp for pieces made in the late 1950's. They are all factory firsts. The teacups are 100mm across the rims (not including the handles), 48mm tall and the saucers are 150mm across. Please note this item is original and not a modern day reproduction.
