Rosenthal Set 4 Cups & Saucers Demitasse Maria Mold Moss Rose Floral w/Gold 1943. Exquisite Decorative DEMITASSE ROSENTHAL Set of 4 CUPS & SAUCERS, Red & Pink MOSS ROSE w/Green LEAVES, Cup INTERIOR is GOLD, circa 1943 from Selb, Bavaria, Germany, on the MARIA Mold Smooth Rim w/EMBOSSING on Cup's Foot, Cup is 12 Sided. DESCRIPTION: These feature a large spray of red & pink Moss Rose with green leaves on the outside of each cup. All 4 cups have the same main spray on both sides. The cup's foot has embossing with gold trim on the rim and the wider, bolder gold band separating the foot from the cup.

The entire handle is painted a solid gold and the inside of the cups is also a solid gold. Each saucer has a larger moss rose spray in the center with a bold gold trim around the verge. The flat rim is embossed with roses and finally the rim is trimmed in gold. CONDITION: The condition of this set of cups & saucers is superb.

We can find no defects or damage. There are no chips, nicks, cracks, rubbings, scratches or hairlines. Please refer to the photos to see how classically beautiful this is. DIMENSIONS: The saucers have a diameter of 4 1/8" and a height of 1/2".

The cups have a diameter of 2 3/8" and a height of 1 3/4". The capacity of the cup is 2 ounces. His business grew to the point that in 1891 he built his first factory to produce porcelain using kaolin imported from Bohemia. The current Rosenthal website states from 1907 the company marks each product with its full name, thus the brand name of Rosenthal is born in 1907. In his book entitled Rosenthal, Dieter Struss dates these pieces as used in 1943 time period by date ciphers containing Germany instead of Bavaria.
