Ornate GOLD Gilding on Black Background. Stunning design of a garland of dark red roses (the JOHNSON ROSE) and leaves on a dramatic black and burnished gold gilded background. Truly one of the most beautiful cups and saucers I have ever owned. Both pieces are in excellent undamaged condition with no chips, cracks, repairs, hairlines or restoration and pass the "ping" test of bone china perfectly.

One pin prick of missing black paint on saucer edge which certainly does not affect the overall beauty of the set. No wear to transfer and only very minor surface scratches to gold commensurate wtih age only visible under extreme light. The burnished gold has a wonderful patina overall. Cup measures 2 3/4" tall at sides and 3" to top of handle and is 4 1/4" across including handle; the saucer is 5 1/16" across. The mark used is from 1957-60 according to my Paragon reference material.

The pattern number A2395 and H is also handpainted in ochre on the bottom of the saucer. Please ignore all white spots on photos caused by camera flash. This lovely cup and saucer would make a great addition to your collection. Please remember that my items are vintage and not store-bought-new and some minor wear from age and use should be expected. I do try and describe my items accurately. Please examine all photos carefully as they are part of the description.
