CONDITiON: Excellent, without defects of any kind. Porcelain sherbet cup and saucer, produced in Germany by the Donath Dresden studio in the late 19th century. The saucer is 6 inches in diameter. The cup is 2 7/8 inches high with a diameter of 3 1/2 inches.
The cup measures 5 inches across the handles. The cup features a pedestal base and 2 handles. The surface of the saucer and most of the cup is gilded and decorated with raised turquoise beads or jewels.It is very much in the style of Coalport of that same period. Bands of cream have gilding flowers with enameled centers and raised gold ornaments. The interior of the cup, handles and foot are richly gilded.
There is a gilded medallion in the center of the saucer and beautiful enamel border matching the cup. It is a truly magnificent piece. The Post Office requires this.
