Antique Meissen Tea Cup & Saucer, Early Topographical Scene of Dresden

  
CONDITION: The gilded trim is worn. There are no other defects. This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in Germany by Meissen around 1800. It has first quality crossed swords marks under the glaze. The saucer has a diameter of 5 7/8 inches.

The cup is 2 1/2 inches tall with a diameter of 3 3/4 inches. The borders are molded in high relief with scrolls and shells. The front of the cup has a detailed hand painted scene of Dresden Castle and the surrounding square. You can see people in the foreground dressed in the fashion of that time.

It is done with amazing detail, street lamps, clouds and the perfect perspective of the structures. It is like having a snapshot of that day in Dresden. FOR OUR CUSTOMERS OUTSIDE THE US. The Post Office requires this.
