Coalport Turquoise & Gold Beaded Gold Chicago Exhibition 1893 Demitasse Cup & Saucer Nice antique British bone china demitasse cup and saucer with spiral fluted / spanked molding with heavy gilding along the bottom of the cup and around the center/well of the saucer. Decorated with turquoise beads inside a gold net framed by raised and beaded gold designs with raised gold scrollwork above over a white background. Gold gilding to the handle and along the edge.
Marked on the bottom England Coalport AD 1750 with a crown. This mark was used between 1891 and 1920. Also has an English registry number 147182 and a Chicago Exhibition 1893 mark in gold on the bottom of the saucer.Has crazing typical of bone china, some wear to the gilding, some usage wear to the center of the saucer, and a discolored small Y shaped hairline in the bottom of the cup on the inside. The cup measures approximately 2 3/4 inches wide including the handle x 2 1/8 inches tall. The saucer measures approximately 4 3/8 inches wide.
