ANTIQUE Homer Laughlin Nautilus Karol fine china 33 piece (excluding 2 lids) set consisting of a creamer, sugar and 6 dinner plates, 6 salad plates, 6 small bowls and 6 cups with saucers. This set is from 1950 to 1970. HAND PAINTED 22 KT GOLD. TRIM around the cup rims, all handles (including sugar bowl lid on and around opening) sugar and creamer rims and the rims of all of the plates.

The main color is an off white with a GORGEOUS dark green border full of GOLD PLATED FLEUR DE LIS! In the center of the plates, bowls and on one side of the cups are a BEAUTIFUL display of flowers that are light gray and yellow with orange stamen and also leaves.

(I don't know the pattern and it does not indicate a name but letters and numbers which I will mention later) On each piece it notes: Nautilus, Made in U. M53N5, Karol China Warranted 22 Karat Gold. " Cups just have "Karol China Warranted 22 Karat Gold. These are attributed to Homer Laughlin. Measures: 3 7/8" tall to the handle on the lid, 4 3/4" diameter wide.

Measures: 3 7/8" tall to the spout, 5 5/8" rim to handle and 4 1/8 diameter wide. Measures 2 3/4" tall 4 3/8" from handle to rim and 3 3/8 diameter rim to rim. Measures: 1" tall and 5 5/8" diameter. Measures "tall and 10 1/8" diameter.

Measures 7/8" tall and 7 1/4" diameter. Measures 1 1/2" tall and 5 3/8" diameter. Great condition with no cracks, one tiny rim defect 1/4" long by 1/16" that was done when made as it is under the gold plated border of one of the salad plates.

One plate has some light scratches from use and one of the cups has a tiny green horizontal line inside at the rim done when made too. Some gold plate missing but mostly on one cu, but not bad. There are some tiny pinpoint discolorations, on some of the pieces done when made and really not bad. One saucer has a few tiny raised areas in the off white. Everything I have noted is small but I note everything I can find though.

The small bowls have what looks like a tiny bubble under the glaze on each one. (Please see last 4 photos for these things) This set was very lightly used.
