This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Germany by the Ambrosius Lamm Dresden studio in the 1890s. The saucer is 4 ¼ in diameter.

The cup is 2 ¼ high and has a diameter of 2. The ground color is iridescent aqua.

The hand painted portrait is of a young noble woman of 16. Century Rome, named Beatrice of Cenci. She was immortalized in poetry art, and books for her courage. Elaborate raised gilding surrounds her portrait. Gilded leaves encircle the well of the saucer and bottom of the cup. There are accents of beaded gilding and lacy gold.
