Rare SHELLEY AUBUSSON Floral CUP & SAUCER BOSTON Shape GOLD HANDLE & BASE Mint

  
AUBUSSON pattern - scarcely found. A beautiful pattern of mixed floral bouquets on cobalt panels and extensive gold filigree details which is repeated on the cup interior as well as the complete saucer surface.

Rare BOSTON shape which according to my reference material was produced from 1963 - 1966 but I have not seen this shape commonly offered. A very elegant shape with slightly scalloped edges and a beautiful handle which is completely gold gilded as is the cup footed base.

Mint condition with no chips, cracks, hairlines, repairs, other damage or restoration - both pieces pass the "ping" bone china test perfectly. Cup bowl measures 4 3/4" across (including handle) and is 2 1/2" tall to top of handle; saucer is 5 5/8 across. Marked as shown in photo with standard Shelley shield mark in green and pattern number 0623/42. Please ignore white spots on photos caused by camera flash. This would make a great addition to your Shelley collection. Please remember that my items are vintage and not store-bought-new and some minor wear from age and use should be expected.
