Set of 6 Ahrenfeldt Hand Painted Pink Rose & Gold Bouillon Cups & Saucers C 1886 Absolutely stunning set of 6 porcelain bouillon cup and saucers. Nicely decorated with hand painted pink rose garlands, sets of two and three pink roses, green leaves, and fancy gold scrollwork and floral gilding. With gold gilding along the edge and gold highlights to the handles of the cups. The saucers are marked on the bottom The Cowell & Hubread Co Cleveland O. This is an importer/retailer mark.
Austria is hand written in a light green underneath. The boullion cups match blanks made by Charles Ahrenfeldt's factory in Austria (now Stara Role) and the hand writing for Austria also matches how it is written on some pieces of marked Ahrenfeldt. Probably made between 1886 and 1910. Two of the cups have a crack through the bottom of one of the handles. One of the cups has a small flake to the lip near the handle.These all have some wear to the gilding, but no other chips or cracks. Each bouillon cup measures approximately 5 1/2 inches wide including the handles x 1 7/8 inches tall. Each saucer measures approximately 5 7/8 inches wide.
These are antiques and may have small in manufacture defects that to do not affect the display of the pieces.
