Unusual LUDLOW shape with its ribbed scalloped body. The panels are burnished gold and a pale seafoam green; the inside is a very pale cream. Note the completely gilded handle and the hand painted lions tooth design gold on the cup and saucer edges.
Likely dates from the 1950s. I've not seen this pattern combination previously. Virtually mint overall condition with no chips, cracks, hairlines, staining, repairs or restoration - both cup and saucer pass the "ping" test.
A few tiny scuffs to the surfaces commensurate with age but the burnished gold patina is incredible. Teacup measures 4 1/4" across (including handle) and is 2 1/4" tall; saucer is 5 5/8 across. Both pieces marked with vintage Shelley shield mark in green as shown in photo handpainted pattern mark 13620/53.Please ignore all white spots on photo caused by camera flash. This wonderful set would make a great addition to your Shelley collection or a lovely gift. Please study photos to make your own determination of condition. Please remember that my items are vintage and not store-bought-new and some minor wear from age and use or flaws from original factory production should be expected.
