Antique Coalport Demitasse Cup & Saucer, Encrusted Gold

  
The thin line of gold around the well of the saucer is worn. This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Coalport in the 1890s. It was made to order for Ovington Brothers, a high end retailer.

The saucer has a diameter of 4 3/4 inches. The cup is 2 3/8 inches tall with a diameter of 2 1/4 inches. The fine white bone china is decorated with elaborate raised and embossed gilding. The well of the saucer, interior of the cup and handle are gilded.
