Nippon Chocolate Pot Set Blue with Gold Gilt 6 Cups & Saucers Morimura 1911-21
This porcelain chocolate set is stunning in light and cobalt blue, pretty forget-me-not flowers, and much gold gilding. The set includes a chocolate pot with lid, and 6 cups with 6 saucers. The pot and cups are marked on the base in green with; Hand painted, a wreath with an M inside, and Nippon. This mark was used by Morimura Brothers (Noritake) between 1911 and 1921. The pot measures approximately 9" tall including the lid, 7" long from handle to pouring lip, and 3 1/2 wide. Each cup measures approximately 2 3/4" tall, and 2 1/4" wide, not including the handle. The saucers are 4 3/4" in diameter, and 3/4" tall.
This set is in very good condition and the decoration looks beautiful. One cup has a hairline crack, as seen in a closeup in the last photograph.
There is a small chip on the edge of the pouring lip on the chocolate pot, as seen in a closeup in the second to last photo. Otherwise there are no chips or cracks. There is minor surface wear. Please see my pictures, and thank you for looking! I package fragile items securely and with care.
