Antique SATSUMA Teapot Gilded Bronze Silver Plated - Hinged Lid + 2 Tea Cups Saucers pattern number 5418. Made probable in the latter half of the 19th century in Japan.

The set consists of a teapot, two tea cups and saucers, all made from silver plate and heavily gilded. It can be distinguished from the English Staffordshire copies because of the double lip to the spout. A most intriguing design feature.

The tea set is in excellent condition and has been well-maintained, with no signs of wear and tear, other than that commensurate with age. The quality of the craftsmanship is evident in the intricate details and the smooth finish of the silver plate and gilded bronze. This tea set is a must-have for any antique collector or for anyone who appreciates the beauty of antique tea sets. Teapot: 8" including spout and handle x 4 1/2" diameter x 5 height.

Cups: Height 2 3/4" x 2 1/2". Saucers: 4 3/4" diameter x 1/2" height. CONDITION: On the whole - Excellent condition, commensurate with its age.
