Antique Royal Worcester Demitasse Cup & Saucer, Aesthetic Style

  

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Royal Worcester in1884. The date letter indicates this year. The saucer is 4 3/4 long and 3 3/4 wide. 2 1/2 high and the opening measures 2 1/4 by 1 5/8. The set has a unique rectangular.

The porcelain is molded in high relief with branches of leaves and vines. The leaves and branches are painted in gold with outlines and accents in rust red. Alternating panels have platinum cherry blossoms on a gold ground. Note the style of the handle.
