Ambrosius Lamm Dresden Watteau Scene Purple Luster Raised Gold Cup & Saucer. Beautiful antique porcelain pedestal cup and saucer.

The outside of the cup is decorated with hand painted Watteau courting couple scenes. With a thin raised gold band above, ivory band with tiny red enamel beads with gold scrollwork, and gold gilding along the edge with gold beading. Has a band of gold with gold beading below the scene and above burgundy luster with gold leaves with raised gold highlights and white enamel beading.

Purple burgundy luster around the foot with a band of gold laurel leaves with tiny gold beads. Gold gilding along the foot with gold beading. Gold gilding to the handle of the cup. The interior of the cup is decorated in purple burgundy luster with with a heavy gold gilt petal design with gold leaves and raised gold roses, flowers, and small beads. The saucer is ivory in the center with a gold floral and gold scallops. Has a gold band around the center followed by gold beads and white enamel beads over purple burgundy, another thin gold band, and gold leaves with raised highlights and white enamel beads over a purple burgundy luster border. With gold gilding along the edge with gold beading. Marked on the reverse with a lamb above Dresden. This is a decorating mark was used by the Dresden studio of Ambrosius Lamm between 1887 and 1890. Has some minor wear to the gold and a few small spots of loss to the white enamel beading, but otherwise excellent condition. The cup measures approximately 4 1/8 inches wide including the handle x 1 7/8 inches tall.

The saucer measures approximately 5 1/4 inches wide. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
