Meissen Dot Period Hand Painted Puce Rose & Gold Coffee Cup & Saucer C. Decorated with hand painted puce roses and flowers. Gold gilding along the edge of the cup. Blue highlights to the handle. Both pieces are marked on the bottom with the underglaze blue crossed swords mark with a dot used by Meissen between 1763 and 1774. Has wear to the gilding and heavy wear from use, but no chips or cracks. The cup measures approximately 3 7/8 inches wide including the handle x 2 5/8 inches tall. The saucer measures approximately 5 1/4 inches wide. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
