Schumann Berlin German Floral & Gold Garlands Covered Cup & Saucer C. 1851-1869

  

Decorated with hand painted pink, purple, yellow, blue, red and white flowers and gold gilt floral garlands and scrollwork. With heavy gilding along the edges and gold gilt highlights to the finial and handle. It is marked SPM in blue on the bottom. This mark was used by Friedrich Adolph Schumann in Berlin Germany between 1851 and 1869.

Has some wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks. The cup measures approximately 4 1/2 inches wide including the handle x 5 1/4 inches tall to the top of the lid finial. The saucer measures approximately 6 1/2 inches wide. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
