Sevres Hand Painted Courting Couple & Raised Gold Oversized Cup & Saucer C. 1889 Beautiful authentic Sevres porcelain oversized empire form cup and saucer. Decorated with a hand painted courting couple on one side of the cup and musical instruments on the other, both framed in elaborate raised gold gilt scrollwork designs. The saucer has musical instruments framed in raised gold scrollwork on either side. With gold gilding to the rim, lip, and handle of the cup.

The saucer has gold gilding and scrollwork designs along the edge. Also has a gold Ducal Crown and Louie Phillip monogram in gold gilding on the front of the cup.

Has incised date code numbers on the base. Also has a green underglaze S. 63 Sevres date code mark on the bottom, as well as a red Dore a Sevres 89 decorating mark. One of the finest Sevres cups we have had the pleasure to offer. Has some minor wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks. The cup measures approximately 4 1/2 inches wide x 5 5/8 inches tall. The saucer measures 6 1/2 inches wide. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
