Antique Coalport Chocolate Cup & Saucer
This porcelain chocolate cup and saucer was produced in England by Coalport in the 1890s. The saucer has a diameter of 5 5/8 inches and the cup is 3 ½ inches high. The saucer has a recessed well for the cup to fit into. The set is burgundy red with elaborate raised gold decorations.
The interior of the cup, well of the saucer and handle are coated with gold. This is a rare and unusual size and shape for Coalport. CONDITION: There is light crazing in the glaze on the foot of the saucer and foot of the cup on the white. There is no crazing in the red enamel or gilding.
