A beautiful antique John Rose Coalport porcelain true trio. A bute shaped tea cup, coffee can and saucer. Gorgeous Japan imari thumb and finger pattern number 376.

Gorgeous under glaze blue with hand enamel red, orange and green decoration. Finished with stunning gold gilding a wonderful antique item over 200 years old.

The can marked underneath in the foot rim with hand written number 6 or 9 in gold the saucer the number 10 in red the tea cup number 6 or 9 in gold these are workman's marks or tally marks. The pieces are Coalport shape but the quality of the decoration makes me think they may have been outside decorated possibly by one of the London studios of the period. The same shape and pattern in the Geoffrey A Godden book Coalport & Coalbrookdale Porcelains photo plate 40. The same shape tea cup in the Michael Berthaud book A Compendium of British Cups page 33 plate 193.

This is a fine quality set over 200 years old. Date :- 1803 / 1807. The coffee can 6.5 cm / 2 1/2 inches in height and 6.8 cm / 2 5/8 inches across the top. The tea cup 6 cm / 2 3/8 in height and 7.6 cm / 3 inches across the top.

The saucer 13.5 cm /5 1/4 inches in diameter. In great condition just a tiny under glaze firing crack to tea cup as photo and very minimal wear to gilding. Please study photos to help gauge condition. This item is in the category "Pottery, Ceramics & Glass\Decorative Cookware & Tableware\Cup & Saucers".finds132" and is located in this country: GB.
