Fine Royal Worcester Porcelain Aesthetic Movement Style Gilt Cup & Saucer Antiqu
A very stylish Royal Worcester porcelain coffee cup and trembleuse type saucer in the aesthetic style with a dramatic Japanese influence of layered raised gilding of stylised seaweed. A reeded moulded handle with criss-crossed ribbons and finished with gilt dentil rims. Factory stamped marks, dated for 1879, and the saucer with impressed mark also and a gilder's mark, a signed B over 231 and FR. The cup measures 8.3cm (3 1/4") rim to rim and 5.1cm (2") high and the saucer is 13.8cm (5 7/16") wide and 2.5cm (1"). The surface is very finely crazed.
