Haviland Limoges Set of 5 Tea Cups & Saucers Fancy Handles 1870's Double Gilding
This set of 5 tea cups and saucers were made by Haviland & Co of Limoges, France. It is a simple white porcelain with gold gilded trim and bands, but the handles are so stunning and fancy. They are beautifully shaped with gold gilded shells and accents. Each cup measures approximately 1 3/4" tall to the rim, and 3 5/8" wide, not including the handle. They hold about 7 ounces. The saucers measure approximately 5 3/8 in diameter. All pieces are marked on the base in red with an oval ribbon, Haviland & Co, Limoges, Double Gilding. The set is in very good condition, I examined each piece very closely. The foot of one saucer has two very small nicks, and the rim of one cup has a tiny fleabite. There are no other chips or cracks, and minor surface wear. The porcelain is so thin and delicate, really excellent quality. Please see my pictures, and thanks for looking! I package fragile item securely and with care. This item is in the category "Pottery & Glass\Cookware, Dinnerware & Serveware\Cup & Saucers".
