The palette colors used are: yellow, green, grey on white with gold trim. The most striking feature about this set is the unusual yellow bands that match the color of the yellow flowers. The rims, feet, and handles of the cup are trimmed in gold. CONDITION: While this set is classified as used, the condition is superb. There are no chips, nicks, cracks, rubbings, scratches or hairlines.
There are no utensil marks or wear to the gold trim. DIMENSIONS: The cups have a diameter of 3 3/8" with a height of 2 11/16".
The height to the top of the cup's handle is 2 3/4. The deep saucers have a diameter of 5 1/2" and a height of 7/8". HISTORY/MARKS: Thomas Poole started his bone china pottery at Cobden Works, Cooke Street, Longton, Staffordshire, UK in 1880 using Royal Stafford China as his tradename. It was renamed Thomas Poole, Ltd. In 1925 and in 1948 merged with Gladstone China, Ltd. To form Royal Stafford China, Ltd. Their marks or variations of their marks continued to be used. Each piece is stamped with "Royal Stafford Bone China Made in England" in grey. Godden's Encyclopaedia of British Pottery and Porcelain Marks, as mark #3090.
